Anastasia Antoniv

Anastasia Antoniv is a dedicated educator and soulful performer. In Lviv, Ukraine, she studied with Prof. Larysa Oleksiw at the Krushelnytska Specialized School. Anastasia debuted as a performer at the age of 16 at the Lviv State Philharmonic with the Khachaturian violin concerto. She continued her higher education at the Lysenko Music Conservatory in Lviv, where she studied under Prof. Oleksandra Derkach and performed as concertmaster of the Student Symphony Orchestra. Upon graduating, Anastasia started her professional career teaching violin and performing in a chamber quartet at the Liudkevych Music College in Lviv. Anastasia then immigrated to the United States, where she has been heavily invested in music education within the Ukrainian diaspora. She joined the New York branch of the Ukrainian Music Institute of America (UMI) in 2002 as a violin teacher. In 2013, she spearheaded the revival of the Brooklyn branch of UMI and has served as the director of the branch since then. Anastasia has also been a guest accompanist and music instructor for many Ukrainian organizations such as the School of Ukrainian Studies, Plast, Ukrainian Youth Organization (CYM), St. Volodymyr Sunday School. Outside of the Ukrainian community, Anastasia has performed with the Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra, and has been a guest solo violinist for the New Paltz Ballet Theater.
