ANNA HURINA is a composer, pianist, and vocalist. She is currently a fourth-year student at the Mykola Lysenko Lviv National Music Academy. She double-majors in Composition (class of O.M. Manulyak) and Academic Singing (class of L.F. Bozhko). She is a laureate of the IV International Composer Competition OdesaMusic Olymp 2023.
Her professional journey in composition began during her second year at the S.S. Hulak-Artemovsky Cherkasy Music College under the guidance of Ye. S. Marchuk, where she also graduated with honors as a classical pianist. Although she started writing music at the age of 12, her current artistic focus lies in dodecaphony, serialism, and electroacoustic-progressive music.
Festival participation and projects include regular participation in the Musical Impresses of Ukraine, the Lviv Young Composers Concert at the Lviv Organ Hall (2023, 2024), and the International Contemporary Music Festival Contrasts (notably the Prepared Landscapes concert in 2023).
Her Electroacoustic works, Narod (The People, 2023) and CHAS (Time, 2024) were showcased at the Vox Electronica festival. In 2024, Narod was featured in the audiovisual project Urban Inevitability at the VERE MUSIC FUND.
In 2023, she participated in the Vivier InterUniversitaire (ViU) project—a collaboration between the “Octopus” Student Society and universities in Quebec (Canada), where her work Anima et Homo was premiered. She also took part in the Kyiv-based project Transhumanism (Center for Young Music), collaborating with French composer and conductor Etienne Haan.
In 2025, Anna was awarded the Scholarship of the President of Ukraine. She participated in the X International Composition Masterclasses COURSE, studying under Alla Zahaykevych, Sławomir Wojciechowski, and Luxa (Martin Schüttler). During the masterclass, her work Formido was premiered by Ensemble Nostri Temporis. Following the masterclass, she received a prestigious commission from the Lviv National Philharmonic for Ensemble24 to be premiered at the Contrasts Festival 2025 (October 4, 2025). The festival will also feature her work Anima et Homo (arranged for flute and clarinet). Her other notable performances include Lacuna Somnii for ensemble and electronics, performed at the Virtuosos festival.
