Anna Hurina is a Ukrainian composer who began composing at age twelve. She graduated with honours as a classical pianist from the S. S. Hulak-Artemovsky Cherkasy Music College — where she began formal composition study — and is now a student at the Mykola Lysenko Lviv National Music Academy, double-majoring in composition (under Ostap Manulyak) and academic singing. Her artistic focus lies in dodecaphony, serialism and electroacoustic-progressive music. She is a laureate of the IV International Composer Competition “OdesaMusic Olymp” (2023) and a President of Ukraine Scholarship recipient (2025). Her works include the electroacoustic pieces Narod (The People, 2023) and CHAS (Time, 2024), featured at the Vox Electronica festival; Anima et Homo, premiered through Canada’s Vivier InterUniversitaire project; Formido, premiered by Ensemble Nostri Temporis; and Lacuna Somnii for ensemble and electronics. In 2025 she received a commission from the Lviv National Philharmonic’s Ensemble24, premiered at the Contrasts Festival.
