Kanzona for Two Violins by Ihor Shcherbakov is dedicated to violinists Nina Sivachenko and Igor Andrievsky. The work was written for the Music Salons Festival in Banská Bystrica (Slovakia), where it was premiered in June 1999 by its dedicatees. The basic idea of the work is “in search of a melody from nothing, from void” and occupied Shcherbakov very strongly in the late nineties. The work is meditative and expressive.
