Marian Fil completed Devaldi Korbes in Germany, on the border between France and Switzerland, in 2022. “It was a special conclusion with sorrow for Lviv and Ukraine.” The title reflects the music’s “mystical and enigmatic” character: “If you play around with different combinations of letters and languages, the title can be deciphered as ‘Rooms of the Devil’; I don’t want to reveal all the secrets of the piece… In every composition, I always wish for the listener to find something familiar and native in it, and I hope that you will find it.”
