Maxim Shalygin

Maxim Shalygin (b. 1985, Kamianske) is a Ukrainian-Dutch composer, conductor and performer of contemporary classical music. He studied in Kyiv (Tchaikovsky National Music Academy) and at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, where he settled, and writes across chamber, vocal, symphonic, electroacoustic and theatrical genres while expanding instrumental technique within a broadly tonal language; his projects include the multi-chapter cycle SIMILAR and the opera Amandante.
