Trevor Weston

Trevor Weston (b. 1967) is an American composer whose choral, orchestral and chamber music draws on African-American and broader vernacular traditions. He studied at Tufts University and the University of California, Berkeley (with Olly Wilson), teaches at Drew University and on the Juilliard faculty, and his honours include the George Ladd Prix de Paris and a music award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. His “Slowly,” a setting of the Ukrainian poet Serhiy Zhadan, was given its world premiere at UCMF's Notes from Ukraine concert.
